A new version of the 1987 film Planes, Trains And Automobiles is in the works. According to Deadline , Will Smith and Kevin Hart become travel buddies in the remake.
In the original film, Steve Martin and John Candy starred as a successful businessman and less fortunate shower curtain ring salesman, whose plane is stranded in a snowstorm before relying on each other to get home. The film was written and directed by John Hughes, who passed away in 2009. It is not clear whether Martin will be involved in the new project. Candy died in 1994.
The script for the remake is in the hands of Aeysha Carr, who previously worked on police comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine . She says on Instagram with a photo of Smith and Hart that she is very excited to get started ‘for these hilarious dudes’. It is not yet known who will direct the new film.
