The World Health Organization (WHO) has enlisted the help of characters from the animated film Despicable Me to explain to people what they can and cannot do during the coronavirus outbreak. In a video on YouTube , Gru and his Minions recommend people to stay indoors.
Images of the animated film series, of which three parts have now appeared, were used for the film. Steve Carrell, who speaks the voice of character Gru, tells viewers to keep as far away from each other as possible and have fun indoors, for example by dancing or learning to prepare a new meal. He urges viewers to be nice to one another at this time.
The video is a collaboration between the World Health Organization, United Nations Foundation and Illumination. The WHO hopes this will make it clear to even more citizens how they can stay as safe as possible during the pandemic.
In addition to the three parts of Despicable Me , the Minions received also received their own film in 2015. A sequel would be released this summer, but this film has been postponed to July 2, 2021 due to the corona crisis.
