Billie Eilish posted a short film about body shaming on YouTube. The video, titled Not My Responsibility , was intended for the singer’s tour canceled due to the corona virus.
Eilish started her Where Do We Go? In Miami in March -world tour, but had to cancel the concert series after a few evenings because of the coronavirus outbreak. During the show, the singer would show the video between the songs.
The video shows Eilish undressing and disappearing underwater. The singer can be heard in a monologue, in which she says that she always feels the eyes of the world because she always has an opinion about her body and her choice of clothing.
“When I wear comfortable clothes I am not a woman. When I take off the layers I am a slut. Although you have never seen my body, you judge it and you charge me for it,” she says in the video.
“Whether I wear more or less clothes, who decides what that says about me and what that means? Is my dignity based on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?” Eilish wonders aloud.
The eighteen-year-old singer released her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? from. The record with the hit Bad Guy earned her five Grammys. Then she released the hits Everything I Wanted and Bond soundtrack No Time To Die . Eilish would perform in the Amsterdam Ziggo Dome in July.
