In a train failure near Turin in northern Italy, at least two deaths occurred during the night from Wednesday to Thursday. The accident happened when a regional train collided with a truck at a spoil crossing.
According to the Italian news agency ANSA derailed the locomotive of the train and two wagons. Rescue workers are still looking for victims.
The driver of the train was immediately overcome by the accident. A seriously injured passenger died on his way to the hospital. According to Italian media, at least eighteen people were injured.
It is still being investigated what exactly happened. According to the regional railway company, the railroad trees just did it, but drove the truck right through it.
