The Walking Dead is heading for its ninth season, but if it is up to producer Scott M. Gimple, the American horror series will get many more seasons.
“The comic book series is still going strong and we are telling that story”, says Gimple in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“We want to go further and stay busy The way of watching TV has undergone many changes since our start in 2010. And we have also changed in parallel, we want to tell the complete story and we need more than ten seasons for that.”
The eponymous comic book quoted by Gimple is far ahead of the television series. In that respect, the makers can continue for a while.
In The Walking Dead, the world is attacked by a kind of zombie virus. The remaining people try to establish new societies, but often fall back into tribal wars.
