Before the wedding of Princess Eugenia and the manager of Jack Brooksbank’s nightclub, there are less than two weeks left – the celebration is scheduled for October 12th, but it seems that not everyone in the UK is happy for the lovers. As reported by the media, almost twenty thousand residents of the country have already signed a petition against the use of budgetary funds for the organization of the holiday.
Recall, according to British law, part of the cost of royal wedding ceremonies is covered at the expense of taxpayers – money is mainly spent on security. For the upcoming celebration it is planned to allocate more than two million pounds sterling. The political organization “Respublika”, known for its anti-monarchical position, immediately began collecting signatures on the Internet with an appeal to Buckingham Palace to fully pay the bills of the upcoming wedding events. The claim is supported by the fact that the 28-year-old Princess of York does not fulfill any public royal duties, so the public should not finance the ceremony.
This is one of the richest families in the UK! Why should we pay for them ?!
The cost of the wedding of Princess Eugenia is outrageous. Especially considering how many homeless people we have and in the context of a shortage of funds for more important public needs!
– resent users of the network.
For comparison, at the wedding of Megan Markle and Prince Harry, which took place in May this year, the security cost was 35 million pounds sterling.
Spending taxes on royal wedding is already bad enough, but two celebrations for a public account in one year are beyond the reasonable. Expenses of the royal family get out of control, citizens have the right to know where their money goes,
– said one of the representatives of the protest movement.
The wedding of Princess Eugene and Jack Brooksbank will take place on October 12 in the chapel of St. George in Windsor. The celebration is expected to be about 850 guests.
