Selena Gomez returns in a television series for the first time in eight years. The actress and singer will star in Only Murders in the Building , a comedy from Hulu, the American streaming service confirms Friday at Deadline .
Gomez is given one of three main roles in the series. The other two leading roles are for Steve Martin and Martin Short.
28-year-old Gomez last acted in a television series in 2012, as the lead in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place . Since then she has been active in the music and film industry. She played in the films Spring Breakers, A Rainy Day in New York and The Big Short, among others .
Only Murders in the Building is about three strangers who are engaged in the crime. Suddenly they themselves become involved in a case. It is not yet clear when the series will appear.
