Perhaps the fans should not have been so upset about the death of Tony Stark in Avengers: Final, because everyone has long known that no one leaves Marvel forever. Last weekend, Deadline reported that Robert Downey Jr. will return as Iron Man in the upcoming Black Widow. Judging by the opinion of journalists, this is quite likely.
The 54-year-old actor won the Saturn Prize statuette for his role as Tony Stark in the fourth Avengers, and although the main roles for him in the film universe are over, no one canceled the star cameo. It is still unknown whether Deadline’s message was an error or a spoiler, but the return of Iron Man to Black Widow is possible.
The fact is that the film about Natasha Romanoff will take viewers several years ago into the past. At Comic Con, the creators of the film comic strip confirmed that the plot will unfold between the events of “Confrontation” and “Infinity War.” There is also the option that Robert himself will not even have to participate in the filming, because the film crew will only have to show the processed materials from the third “First Avenger”.
Recall that rumors about the return of Iron Man to the Marvel cinematic universe appeared last week. According to media reports, Downey can take part in the voice acting of his character for the series about Iron Heart, which will be released on the Disney + streaming service. The actor himself did not comment on the rumors.
