The fifth season of Arrested Development is the last acting job of Portia de Rossi. That is what the actress stated on Wednesday in the talk show of her wife, Ellen DeGeneres.
The Rossi, who is actually called Amanda Rogers, had actually stopped acting after she was written in Scandal, she said.
“I made the decision eighteen months ago, when I called the makers of Arrested Development to explain to them that if there was a fifth season, I would not participate because I stopped acting.” They seemed very understanding, They had a nice conversation, and then they wrote me in five episodes, “she laughed.
The Australian started acting in the early 90s and became known to the general public as Nelle Porter in Ally McBeal. In addition to her regular roles in Arrested Development and Scandal, she was also seen for a while in the sitcom Better Off Ted.
The 45-year-old now pours her acting career on the art world. She recently founded General Public, a company that makes 3D replicas of artworks. De Rossi and DeGeneres are themselves art collectors, which inspired the former actress to make art more accessible.
“I felt guilty that only people like Ellen and I can buy art”, she said recently in Architectural Digest. “I thought there should be a way to share paintings with people who want the same experience that we have in our privileged position.”
