Actress Helena Bonham Carter, known from the Harry Potter film series and Les Misérables, has a permanent role in the new season of The Crown.
That makes Netflix known Thursday. Bonham Carter will play the role of Princess Margaret, the sister of the British Queen Elizabeth.
Actress Vanessa Kirby, who played the role of Margaret in the first two seasons, already announced in January that the actress is following her role. Now the streaming service has officially confirmed this.
The Crown highlights about ten years per season from the British queen’s life. Actors Matt Smith and Claire Foy are replaced in the third season by older players. The role of the queen is taken over by Olivia Colman.
“I do not know what makes me feel scarier, honor the real Princess Margaret or follow in the footsteps of Vanessa Kirby”, the actress said about her latest role. “The only thing I can guarantee is that I am smaller than Vanessa.”
Premier Wilson
Netflix also announced that actor Jason Watkins will play the role of Prime Minister Harold Wilson.
It is not yet known when the new season of The Crown can be seen. Presumably that is in December, given the first two seasons then also came out.
