Jennifer Lopez gets a leading role in Hustlers at Scores, a film about a group of former strippers who come up with a plan to steal money from their wealthy clients.
The film will be an adaptation of the eponymous article from 2015 that the large-scale theft appeared in New York Magazine , writes The Hollywood Reporter .
Lopez plays the leader of the group of women. The story is set in New York, at the time of the financial crisis. “Men are often told that they are worth as much as the size of their bank account, women are judged by the symmetry of their faces, their bodies, their beauty and that is what this film is based on,” says Lorene Scafaria, who is will direct. “The rules that apply in the strip club actually apply to the whole world.”
“There is no other actor who can play this raw and dynamic character with so much complexity, humanity and intelligence,” says the director of lead actress Lopez, who previously played major roles in, among others, Maid in Manhattanand The Cell .
It is not yet known when the film comes out.
