33-year-old Irina Shayk began to conquer the world of fashion at the age of 18 and since then has worked with many global brands. However, she had the longest cooperation with the Italian brand Intimissimi, which she began to represent in 2007 and continues to do so to this day. During one of the regular filming for Intimissimi, Irina told W magazine about her first advertising campaigns, teen complexes, favorite beauty rituals and much more.

About the first shooting for Intimissimi: 
I didn’t know what to do because it was my first shooting for a lingerie brand … When I look back at that first campaign, I realize that I was a girl who was learning to be self-confident.

About self-confidence and sexuality: 
I am often asked what it means to be sexual. We live in the 21st century, when sexuality is not red lipstick, high heels and push-ups. Every woman is sexy in her own way. It comes from the inside … Looking at the girl in sneakers and costume, I think she is sexy. The point is in character, in the manner of moving and speaking – that’s what it’s for me.

About teenage complexes: 
I went through different stages. At age 15, she was thin, and her peers laughed at me. I went in high heels, and behind my back I heard: “Sticks are coming.” Different periods in life are great, because this is how the learning process goes. You will learn something about yourself, about your character, how to be confident, stick to your decision.

About motherhood and related changes:

I always repeat that being a mother is one of the greatest things in the world. I do not think that the birth of a daughter has changed my life. There has been a change for the better in me. Family is the most important thing in the world.
