The powerful Hollywood Producers’ Union (PGA) on Monday condemned the exclusion of the fallen film mogul Harvey Weinstein, saying that sexual harassment would no longer be tolerated in his ranks.
“Given the widely described behavior of Mr. Weinstein – with new articles still emerging now – the National Union of Producers Union voted unanimously to proclaim Mr. Weinstein’s lifetime ban,” writes PGA in a statement.
“All allegations of unconditional sex are categorically denied by Mr. Weinstein,” a spokesman for the former Miramax executive said in a statement.
“Mr. Weinstein has started to receive psychological support, he has heard what is being said around him, and he is going another way. Weinstein hopes that, if he makes enough progress, a second chance will be offered to him, “the statement said.
