Following the COVID-19 pandemic, many special events, including weddings and birthdays, had to be postponed. Celebrities have been affected by the restrictions, as have “normal” people, and are forced to change their plans in person in favor of virtual options.
Yet when it comes to planning a wedding, many prefer to keep things traditional – and this certainly seems to be the case with Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. The two have reportedly been discussing a marriage for months, and Stefani may want to consider tying the knot even sooner than fans realize.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani met on the set of “The Voice”
Shelton and Stefani first met in 2014, when they were both working on the set of The Voice, the hugely popular singing contest. While there is no doubt that Shelton and Stefani were successful immediately, they were both married to other people at the time.
Shelton was involved with country singer Miranda Lambert, while Stefani had been married to singer Gavin Rossdale for many years.
However, as their respective marriages dissolved, Stefani and Shelton found themselves compassionate and came closer. The two men started dating in late 2015, and in 2016 they started dating.
Although Stefani and Shelton may have seemed like a strange couple at first, it became clear to fans that the two were supposed to be together. They’ve been inseparable ever since, the two stars posting adorable photos on Instagram that only reveal that they’ve gotten closer over the years.
It was inevitable that rumors of engagement would start as soon as Shelton and Stefani started dating. Although none of them has confirmed a wedding plan, fans are sure it is only a matter of time.
After five years of dating, Shelton and Stefani are clearly committed to each other, Shelton becoming the father figure of Stefani’s three children. The two recently bought a house together, which made many believe that an engagement announcement was imminent.
However, there was no word from Shelton or Stefani. Some have speculated that neither of the stars is in a great hurry to tie the knot, since they have both been married before and have nothing to prove to anyone.
Shelton and Stefani are low, with the rest of the world, while the COVID-19 pandemic continues to run its course. Yet a recent report reveals that the two are still discussing marriage plans.
A source says the two want to have a marriage as soon as “the social isolation guidelines are lifted” and that Shelton and Stefani are eager to celebrate their commitment to each other with family and friends. Report says the two want to have a wedding in the summer months, but are not tied to a particular date, and they don’t even mind if they have to delay it until the fall .
For these reasons, the source says that Stefani does not like having some sort of virtual wedding ceremony and does not want his family to witness the ceremony via Zoom or Skype. In addition, Stefani and Shelton allegedly organized two separate ceremonies, one in Oklahoma for privacy and the other in LA.
No matter when and how the two decide to have their dream wedding, there is no doubt that it will be a special occasion that family and friends will remember forever.
