Almost all the stars of the two original films will be present for this sequel, in secondary roles.
What all fans of Ghostbusters had guessed has just been confirmed: Bill Murray, like the rest of the original cast, will appear in the third installment expected for August 19, Ghostbusters: The Legacy .
That’s Vanity Fair , who visited the scene of the shooting in September, which revealed Friday. Bill Murray , Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson will resume their roles as Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore. Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts will also appear on the screen.
The American magazine specifies that they will all play an important but secondary role in this film. Because Ghostbusters: the legacy (directed by Jason Reitman, son of the director of the first two parts) is interested in a new generation. The feature is worn by Finn Wolfhard ( Stranger Things ), Paul Rudd , Carrie Coon and Mckenna Grace.
Casting almost complete
Two members of the original team will, however, miss in this new film; Rick Moranis, who interpreted Louis Tully and who retired from the cinema, and Harold Ramis, the interpreter of Egon Spengler, died in 2014.
“We’re one less, that’s how it is,” said Bill Murray to Vanity Fair . “And this is the story we tell, this is the story they wrote.”
“The script is good,” he continues. “There is a lot of emotion in it. There is a lot of family, and really interesting lines. It will work.”
The production hovered over the return of the original actors since the project was announced. But Sigourney Weaver had sold the wick last June .
