“In order to prevent and control the epidemic, and to ensure the health and safety of our visitors and our employees, Shanghai Disney Resort will temporarily close the doors of Shanghai Disneyland,” said a statement relayed by Deadline . “We will continue to monitor the situation closely and be in contact with the local government. We will announce the reopening date when we receive confirmation.”
A blow to the entertainment industry
The new coronavirus is a viral pneumonia of unknown origin that has been raging in China since December. 830 people were infected and 26 died , according to the latest report communicated by Beijing. Public health officials have called on Chinese citizens to avoid gathering in public places.
