The first live action film from Dora is coming to the cinema this summer, but the trailer has already caused a lot of stir.
“I push every child aside, I don’t care”
Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a live action film based on the extremely popular Nickelodeon series Dora. The first trailer came out on Saturday and fans are quite mixed up about the first images.
The film, which will be released on August 8, follows teenager Dora on an adventure in which she tries to save her parents. Hereby she discovers a lost city. Isabela Moner plays Dora, Eva Longoria is her mother and Dora’s arch rival Zwieber is spoken by Benicio del Toro.
The first images of the film create discord among fans. “I push every child to the side, I don’t care,” one writes. Others are happy again that only Latin-American actors have been chosen for the Spanish-language film.
But not everyone is enthusiastic. “A part of me refuses to believe that the live action film from Dora is real,” writes a Twitterer. There is also criticism that there are no aspects from the original drawn series in the film.
