An auction of stuff from singer Ed Sheeran (29) has yielded more than 400,000 pounds (more than 440,000 euros). The ‘BBC’ reports that. The total proceeds will go to children and young people who are disabled or suffer from a life-threatening illness.
In total it concerned 220 items. A painting made by Sheeran himself brought in the most money: about 44,000 euros. It was the singer’s only painting he made available for sale. A handwritten note from Sheeran also yielded about 25,000 euros.
The total amount of 440,000 euros was eventually increased by a gift from a British crane company. That donated more than 100,000 euros. The organizer of the Sheeran auction, Gina Long, says he is happy and calls the unexpected donation “remarkable”.
