All I Want For Christmas Is You , Mariah Carey’s 25-year-old Christmas issue, is number one in the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time. Billboard will announce this on Monday.
“A wish that comes true: Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You comes after number 25 for number one,” headlines Billboard Magazine .
The Billboard Hot 100 is a hit list that tracks and arranges all music sales, playing time on the radio and streaming within the United States.
Carey released All I Want For Christmas Is You in 1994. The song grew into a huge Christmas hit, but never made it to the first place in the Billboard Hot 100.
The song has been climbing steadily in recent years. In 2017, All I Want For Christmas Is You reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, last year the Christmas classic finished in third place.
It is the second time in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 that there is a Christmas number on number one. In 1958, The Chipmunk Song by Dave Seville and The Chipmunks took first place.
.@MariahCarey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is officially No. 1 on the #Hot100 for the first time this week, 25 years after its release.
