Actor Eddie Hassell, 30, shot dead

Eddie Hassell, who had roles in ‘The Kids Are All Right’, ‘2012’ and series ‘Surface’, passed away on Sunday. According to ‘TMZ’, the 30-year-old was probably shot dead by someone trying to steal his car.

Hassell started acting at the age of fourteen, guest-starring in series Oliver Beene and Joan Of Arcadia . In 2005, he was cast on Surface as one of lead character Miles’ friends. For that role he was nominated for a Young Artist Award. In 2010 Hassell appeared in The Kids Are All Right as a friend of son Laser (Josh Hutcherson) and in 2013 he appeared in several episodes of Devious Maids .

In addition to his acting, Hassell was an avid surfer and skater. He also wrote the self-help book ‘Someone Should Tell You’. A spokesperson for the actor tells TMZ that the exact cause of his death is not yet clear..
