Fatality Uncovered in Yellowstone as Woman’s Lifeless Body is Found in Vehicle
On May 13, a distressing incident unfolded within Yellowstone National Park, as authorities discovered the deceased body of a woman inside a car that had been driven into a snowbank. According to an official news release from the National Park Service, rangers at Yellowstone promptly responded to the incident, which occurred approximately three miles south of Old Faithful in Wyoming. Upon their arrival, the rangers encountered a man who was standing outside the vehicle. Subsequently, the man was apprehended on charges related to drug possession and other traffic-related offenses.
NBC News attempted to gather comments from both the attorney’s office and the coroner’s office but did not receive an immediate response.
As a result of the discovery, a 24-hour closure of the road connecting Old Faithful and West Thumb was implemented to facilitate investigations. The thoroughfare was subsequently reopened on May 14, allowing for normal traffic flow.
The investigation into this tragic incident is currently being carried out by the Investigative Services Branch of the National Park Service in conjunction with the Yellowstone Law Enforcement Division. Additional support is being provided by the United States Attorney’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Teton County Coroner’s Office, located in Wyoming.
