Kate Middleton Continues to Embrace Learning in Her Royal Role
During an event for Mental Health Awareness Week, Kate Middleton expressed that she is consistently expanding her knowledge about being a member of the royal family. When addressing a group of 11- to 19-year-olds from St. Katherine’s School in Bristol, England, who were mentored by athletes from the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, the Duchess of Cambridge admitted that she had to learn her role and continues to do so on a daily basis. The event was led by Liz Johnson, a Paralympic gold medalist, and founded by Dame Kelly Holmes, who won two gold medals in the 2004 Olympics.
Middleton further revealed her dedication to personal growth by mentioning her efforts to improve her public speaking skills, humbly acknowledging that she is still figuring out how to project her voice effectively. By sharing her own journey, she aimed to humanize the experience and highlight that nobody is perfect.
For the occasion, Middleton opted for a casual ensemble consisting of a yellow blazer, white top, and pants, contrasting her recent appearance in full regalia at King Charles III’s coronation alongside her family.
The welfare of children and mental health are issues close to the heart of the Princess of Wales. She, along with Prince William and Prince Harry, launched the Heads Together campaign in 2019. Additionally, she initiated the Shaping Us campaign earlier this year, which focuses on early childhood development.
During her visit, Middleton also engaged with children participating in the program at the Percy Community Centre in the nearby city of Bath.
The Duchess met Prince William while they were both studying at St. Andrews in Scotland. They tied the knot in 2011 and are proud parents to three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Across the globe in California, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marked Mental Health Awareness Week by visiting teenagers involved with AHA! Santa Barbara.
