Reports from Egyptian media sources suggest that the accident occurred amidst foggy conditions. An initial collision involving a bus and a stationary vehicle triggered a chain reaction, causing subsequent vehicles to collide with the bus.
Tragically, road accidents are a recurring issue in Egypt, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives annually. Contributing factors include excessive speeding and the deteriorating state of the road infrastructure. According to official statistics from 2021, an alarming 7,000 individuals lost their lives in traffic accidents across the country.
