Tori Spelling, renowned for her role in “Beverly Hills 90210,” has officially filed for divorce from her husband and former reality TV co-star Dean McDermott.
The petition, submitted on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, marks the end of their nearly 18-year-long marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
According to Spelling’s filing, the couple has been separated since June 17. Spelling is seeking sole physical custody and joint legal custody of their five children, aged 7 to 17. The request for physical custody pertains to determining the primary residence of the children, while joint legal custody involves making major life decisions for them.
In addition to custody arrangements, Spelling is requesting spousal support from McDermott, as well as financial coverage for her divorce legal fees. However, no specific monetary figures were disclosed in the filing.
The couple’s marriage had been chronicled on television through the reality series “Tori & Dean: Inn Love” and later “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” airing from 2007 to 2012 on the Oxygen network.
Tori Spelling, aged 50, hails from a family deeply entrenched in the entertainment industry, being the daughter of the late TV mogul Aaron Spelling. Besides her iconic role in “Beverly Hills, 90210,” she has also appeared in films such as “Scary Movie 2” and “The House of Yes.”
