Pamela Hutchinson, one of the members of the r & b group The Emotions, passed away on Friday. The remaining group members announced the death of the singer on Sunday via Facebook .
Hutchinson died, according to The Emotions statement, “of health problems she had been dealing with in recent years”. The singer’s family asks fans and friends to respect their privacy.
Hutchinson replaced her sister Jeannette in 1977 because of pregnancy for a year in The Emotions, a singing group that started in 1962 under the name Heavenly Sunbeams. Shortly after joining the band, the R&B group scored its biggest hit, Best of My Love , for which the singing group won a Grammy.
In 1979 The Emotions teamed up with Earth, Wind & Fire on the single Boogie Wonderland . The song became a worldwide top ten hit.
From 2000 Hutchinson was a fixture in The Emotions. The following years the group worked together with rapper Snoop Dogg, among others.
