The creators announced the project in August last year, but only now it became known that the show will be devoted to the adventures of another Archie Comics character, Katie Keane. The series “Katie Keen” will not only expand the universe of “Riverdale”, but also will please the audience with a relatively rare genre on TV – a musical drama.

The TV Line publication reported that the new TV project of the CW channel will be a musical drama with comedy elements. The show tells about a New York resident, student and model Katie Kin, who will fight with her friends for her place on “Broadway, the catwalk and the recording studio.”

The information was confirmed by the executive producer of “Riverdale” and “Sabrina” Roberto Aguirre-Sacas. “Our universe is expanding! Thrilled because I have to film the adventures of Katie Kin and her New York friends. I am extremely glad that I will do it with my friend Michael Grassi, ”the showrunner wrote on his Twitter.

Katie Keane gained popularity and her own comic series back in 1949, eventually becoming the fashion icon of Archie Comics. After the success of the first two screen versions of the Archie Comics comics, “Riverdale” and the new “Sabrina”, the appearance of the heroine on the screens was only a matter of time. After the announcement of the series, many Western media agreed that the show was doomed to success, and we are waiting for the first news about the casting.
