R. Kelly still doesn’t know if he can continue to work now that he is on trial for suspected sexual abuse. The singer had to surrender his passport when he was released on bail. His lawyers are working on a request to have R. Kelly travel abroad.
Many concerts that R. Kelly had already planned for his arrest have been canceled. The same goes for the show he would give in Amsterdam next month. Still, a few shows are still open, including a concert series in Dubai. It is still unclear whether this should also be crossed.
Lawyer Steve Greenberg made a request this week to make an exception for Kelly so that he can continue to work. The request was expected to be processed on Friday, but Greenberg needs more time to list all the details. The next session is scheduled for May 7, before the fallen R&B singer would fly to the Middle East.
