Agents searched a R. Kelly home in the Trump Tower in Chicago on Friday. The singer would hold two women against their will, but the police could not find any evidence for this, local media reports.
A tipster had warned the police that R. Kelly would have taken the women hostage. Agents found the singer on the spot with the two women at his side. They stated, however, that they were free of charge, after which the police left again unhandled.
R. Kelly has been under a magnifying glass for years because of the possible abuse of women. Last week the storm around his person flared up again because of the release of the documentary Surviving R. Kelly, in which several women speak. Following the documentary, justice in the state of Georgia has decided to conduct a criminal investigation into the singer.
