Patrick Stewart had a surprise for his fans on Saturday during a surprise performance at the Star Trek convention in Las Vegas. The actor makes a comeback as his iconic character Jean-Luc Picard in the upcoming Star Trek series.
Hollywood Reporter reported the surprise at the convention. A moment later, Stewart also announced the news on Twitter.
“I will always be proud to have been part of Star Trek: The Next Generation , but when we recorded that last movie in the spring of 2002, I really felt that my time with Star Trek was over”, Stewart. “It is therefore an unexpected but delightful surprise to return with new zest to my character Jean-Luc Picard and to discover new dimensions in him, looking for new life for him, while I thought that was over.”
Stewart played the role of Jean-Luc Picard, captain of the spaceship Enterprise, in Star Trek: The Next Generation and in four Star Trek films for seven seasons . The new series is made for the streaming service CBS All Access
