Chances are that Orlando Bloom (42) will once again take on the role of Legolas for the upcoming Amazon-produced Lord of the Rings series. The reason: the actor finds himself too old. “They must have found some 19-year-old kid to do that.”

“I don’t know if I’m in that world yet”

Orlando Bloom was in a panel with Cara Delevigne to advertise the upcoming movie Carnival Row , in which both act when he was asked about his interest in the role of Legolas. The actor played the role of the blonde elf in several Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films.

“I like to see myself as timeless,” said the 42-year-old actor, “but I don’t know if I’m in that world yet.” When he suggested that they would probably snare a younger actor, Cara responded with “no, no, no!”

At the end of 2017 it was announced that Amazon had won the battle for the television rights of Lord of the Rings from HBO and Netflix. The three companies were approached by the Tolkien Estate to talk about a prequel from The Fellowship of the Rin g. What exactly fans can expect is not yet known.
