At the opening ceremony of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, Intel set a new world record (GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS) by simultaneously flying more than 1,200 drones. This technological feat was realized on the occasion of the first “light show” performed by drones in the history of the Olympic Games.
The Intel Shooting Star drones have illuminated the sky via colorful animations and reproduced the iconic Olympic rings to celebrate the sporting event. A performance that was a highlight of the opening ceremony of these PyeongChang Olympic Games. Intel will continue to animate the sky during the nightly medal ceremonies with 300 drones, throughout the games, from February 10 to 24.
