German model Kasia Lenhardt may have committed suicide a week after ending an affair with the German soccer star.
A model was found dead just a week after she broke up with German soccer star Jerome Boateng.
Kasia Lenhardt, who appeared on Germany’s Next Top Model in 2012, was found dead in her Berlin home by police on Tuesday. Investigators are not treating his death as suspicious, Bild reported.
Investigators believe Lenhardt committed suicide.
“There is no indication of negligence by third parties,” the report said.
Boateng, a Bayern Munich defender, had said via Instagram that they ended their relationship a week ago.
“We will go our separate ways from now on,” read the now-deleted post. “It’s unfortunate, but for me and my family it’s the only right thing to do.”
“A man has to take responsibility and act for the benefit of his family, and I’m doing it now,” continued Boateng. “I wish Kasia all the best.”
Boateng has children with another woman and Lenhardt had a son from a previous relationship, the UK Sun reported.
In his final Instagram post on February 3, Lenhardt wrote: “Now is where you push the line. It’s enough.”
Lenhardt’s friend, fellow model Sara Kulka, confirmed her death on Instagram on Wednesday.
“Rest in peace,” Kulka wrote. “You were a wonderful person, I miss you and I would have liked to say goodbye. I hope you find your peace now and I hope the truth comes out, I know how much you wanted me to ”.
