For the first time since the release of the movie The Parent Trap in 1998, the cast and crew are reunited for a special. The reunion will be broadcast on the night of Monday to Tuesday (Dutch time) on the occasion of the film’s 22nd anniversary.
Friday, director Nancy Meyers posted a photo on Instagram with the caption: “Yayyyy! Finally I can do my Parent Trap tomorrow news with you ! (Still no sequel.)” Two days later, she announced that a reunion had been recorded.
During that reunion, the cast discusses the favorite moments on the set and tells the actors about the impact that the film has decades later. The cast members will also recite the best-known scenes.
The reunion will take place on the Instagram account of journalist (and in this case moderator) Katie Couric. During the event, money is raised for the non-profit organization World Central Kitchen, which is normally committed to providing meals after natural disasters and is now helping people during the corona crisis.
The Parent Trap is about Annie James and Hallie Parker (both played by Lindsay Lohan), who were separated after birth and each was raised by one of the birth parents. The girls later get to know each other at a summer camp and come up with a plan to bring their family back together.
