The intense heat in South Australia caused the animal to approach to drink the vital liquid.
A desperate koala who suffers from the high temperatures in southern Australia, approached a group of cyclists to drink from a bottle of water.
The koala was seen in the middle of the road when he approached the cyclists, with the incredible moment captured by one of the cyclists through his cell phone.
Anna Heusler told 7 News that she was traveling to Adelaide with the group of cyclists when they saw the koala on the road in a bend.
“Naturally, we stopped because we were going to help relocate him off the road,” the woman said in the middle.
“I stopped on my bike and he walked towards me, quite fast for a koala, and when I was giving him a drink of all our water bottles, he really got on my bike.
“None of us have seen anything like that.”
The heat wave is developing again over southern Australia, with temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius, peaking next Monday.
