Comedian Kevin Hart will present the Oscars next year. The presentation of the famous film awards will take place on 25 February 2019.

Hart announces on his  Instagram that he will present the show around the presentation. The Academy, the organization behind the Oscars, has also confirmed on Instagram that Hart will be the presenter.

“People have been asking me for years whether I will present the Oscars, I am delighted that that moment has now come, it is the chance of my life”, according to Hart on the social medium. “My mother is laughing from ear to ear now.”

“I am currently amazed by the invitation, because it has been a very long time for me, it is a great honor to be in the legendary list and I will make sure it will be a special presentation”, continues the comedian.

The last two editions were presented by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

For years I have been asked if I would ever Host the Oscars and my answer was always the same…I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it’s suppose to. I am so happy to say that the day has finally come for me to host the Oscars. I am blown away simply because this has been a goal on my list for a long time….To be able to join the legendary list of host that have graced that stage is unbelievable. I know my mom is smiling from ear to ear right now. I want to thank my family/friends/fans for supporting me & riding with me all this time….I will be sure to make this years Oscars a special one.
