Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge and wife of Prince William, shone in a very special tiara yesterday.
The jewel was in fact the favorite gadget of Princess Diana, who herself was often photographed with the showpiece on her head.
The Duchess wore the crown at a state banquet in Buckingham Palace, in honor of the Dutch King Willem-Alexander. She combined it with a ravishing blue dress by Alexander McQueen, one of her favorite designers.
It is not the first time that Kate has paid tribute to her husband’s deceased mother. For example, William gave her the ring of Diana with their engagement, and Middleton based both her wedding dress and the dresses she wore after a delivery on outfits that Diana had worn before.
