Jennifer Garner is set to reprise her role as Elektra in the highly anticipated film “Deadpool 3,” according to exclusive sources.
The Marvel Studios production, currently in shooting, features Ryan Reynolds returning as the beloved Merc with a Mouth and even sees Hugh Jackman coming out of Marvel retirement to play Wolverine once again.
Directed by Shawn Levy, “Deadpool 3” marks the first movie under Marvel Studios to incorporate characters from the previously 20th Century Fox-owned Marvel stable. Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019 brought the movie rights back to Marvel. Garner previously portrayed Elektra in 20th Century Fox’s “Daredevil” in 2003, starring alongside Ben Affleck, and later headlined her own spinoff, “Elektra.”
Garner’s involvement in “Deadpool 3” suggests a potential multiverse element, aligning with previous rumors, and opens the possibility for other characters from Fox’s Marvel films to make appearances. Given the nature of the Deadpool franchise, the film may also feature meta and self-aware elements.

Marvel Studios declined to comment on the news. Garner, known for her role as secret agent Sydney Bristow in ABC’s “Alias,” has recently been seen in the Netflix hit “Yes Day” and starred opposite Reynolds in the sci-fi adventure “The Adam Project,” directed by Levy. She also appeared in the Party Down reboot and executive produced the limited series “The Last Thing He Told Me” on Apple TV+.
“Deadpool 3” is produced by Kevin Feige, Levy, and Reynolds, with a screenplay by Reynolds, Levy, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Zeb Wells. Fans eagerly await the release of the film, which promises to deliver the irreverent humor and action that made the franchise a success.
