The American jazz singer Nancy Wilson died at the age of 81. According to American media, the artist died at home in Pioneertown, California, after a long illness.

Wilson was a popular jazz singer in the sixties who performed with, among others, Nat King Cole and Sarah Vaughan and had her own TV show. In 1964 she received a Grammy for her version of (You Do not Know) How Glad I Am. In the seventies she switched to disco, with which she scored small hits. Later she returned to jazz again.
