A few hours ago in Melbourne, Hugh Jackman was awarded the honorary medal – Order of Australia.
This is Australia’s highest state award for military and civilians, which was established in 1975 by order of the English Queen Elizabeth II, who is the head of Australia.
Jackman was awarded the Order for his contribution to the country’s art, as well as for his charitable work to eradicate poverty. The famous actor on this important day was supported by his wife Deborra Lee Furness.
After the ceremony, Hugh posted a post on Instagram:
I share this honor with my parents, brothers, friends and especially with Deb, Oscar and Ava. I was taught and inspired by wonderful teachers, trainers and mentors. I owe them forever. It is very honorable to be among the great Australians who have achieved success in various fields of knowledge. Thanks to the Governor General,”Jackman wrote.
