Renowned English actress Helen Mirren is confirmed to play the villain Hespera in the upcoming movie ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’, the adaptation of New Line Cinema’s sequel to the DC comic Shazam !.
In the upcoming movie “Shazam! Fury of the Gods, ”the 75-year-old actress will play the antagonist as Hespera, the villainous daughter of the god Atlas, according to Variety.
The sequel to Shazam is the continuing story of teenager Billy Batson, who transforms into his adult superhero alter ego after uttering the magic word “SHAZAM!” with a strike from the Living Lightning of the gods.
Almost every cast member of 2019’s Shazam will reprise their roles in the sequel. They include Asher Angel and Zachary Levi: the former plays the teenage Billy Batson and the latter plays the grown-up version of Billy.
Mirren will play a sister to Rachel Zegler, the star of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film West Side Story, according to a local entertainment website. However, Zegler’s addition to the cast is yet to be confirmed. Both sisters “may or may not have bad intentions,” the outlet reported.
