The American actress Jessica Walter has died, her family confirms to entertainment site Deadline . She was best known for her role in Arrested Development.
Walter died in her sleep on Wednesday night at home in New York. She lived to be eighty years old.
The actress worked in the entertainment world for about fifty years. She appeared in the directorial debut of Clint Eastwood, Play Misty for Me , and also in the television movie The Flamingo Kid and the series Trapper John, MD and The Streets of San Francisco.
In Arrested Development , Walter could be seen as Lucille Bluth. The actress received an Emmy nomination for that role, as well as for her performance in Trapper John, MD and Streets of San Francisco. In the 1970s, Walter already managed to cash in an Emmy nomination with her role in Amy Prentiss.
