HBO has made a five-part documentary about tennis star Serena Williams. The documentary is being broadcast in May, the month in which Williams plays her first Grand Slam tournament after the birth of her daughter.
Being Serena follows the personal life of the top athlete in a period in which there was a lot for her. In the documentary her pregnancy, marriage, the birth of her daughter and her return on the job are discussed.
Williams won the Australian Open in January 2017. Four months later she announced that she was eight weeks pregnant during the tournament. On 1 September she gave birth to Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., two months later she married the father of the girl, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian.
