The series was to be produced by Harvey Weinstein …
It will still take a long time before seeing the resurrected King on the screens. Yet, the project was indeed in gestation to believe the information gathered by Deadline. Apple had launched the machine a few months ago and the series tracing the life of Elvis Presley was to enter its first stages of preparation with Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg at the controls. In fact, it had to be a series of biopics dedicated to music icons such as Prince or Michael Jackson.
A vast project, therefore, was to be carried out in collaboration with the Weinstein Company. But following the scandal that affects his co-founder for several days now, Apple has preferred to remove his marbles.
The king is dead, long live the king
The Weinstein Company had obtained the rights for musical distribution, but also to turn on the property of Elvis Presley, Graceland, to use his cars and even his outfits.
Nothing prevents a priori that this series is made in a more or less distant future. It remains to wait for the storm to pass. On the Weinstein Company side, it was decided to erase the name of Harvey Weinstein from the credits of the projects where he served as executive producer.
