With Get Out, Jordan Peele has instantly become one of the most scrutinized American directors and everyone wonders what will be his next film.
Coming from comedy and performing well before being a director, the filmmaker proved with his first realization that he was able to master a complex narrative, to assume both satirical and political charges, while unveiling a range of fun cinephile references. Add to that a sense of suspense and rhythm absolutely impeccable, and Get Out (or our criticism ) has emerged as one of the little revelations of 2017.
The film has ravaged the international box office (nearly 255 million worldwide, for a budget of 4.5 million), no wonder everyone wonders if Jordan Peele wishes to give a follow-up. He gave his answer recently at the Academy’s Nominees Night press conference after receiving four Oscar nominations (including Best Director):
“Clearly, I seriously consider it. I like this universe and I feel that there is still a story to tell. I do not know which one it is for the moment, but we still have some gray areas to explore if you saw the film. “
It’s not easy to know what the director means, but in view of his creativity, we are not necessarily worried.
Jordan Peele is also expected to develop a series about Nazi hunters in America in the 70s, as well as a new version of The Fourth Dimension.
