Jessica Chastain says she was not hurt by the decision of filmmaker Xavier Dolan to have cut the editing of his film The Death and Life of John F. Donovan .
A few hours after Dolan announced this startling Sunday night news on Instagram explaining that it was an “editorial and narrative decision,” the American actress used the social network to reassure the audience that she did not want the director.
“Do not worry, I was informed in advance of this message, wrote Chastain. This was done with the utmost respect and with love. Xavier, I’m always impressed by your total commitment to the story you want to tell. As a true artist, you do not hesitate to go ahead without considering previous expectations and ideas. I love you so much and can not wait to work with you again. ”
Dolan’s first English-language film, John F. Donovan’s The Death and Life will feature Kit Harington, Susan Sarandon, Natalie Portman and Kathy Bates. The release date has not been chosen yet.
