Gerard Butler summoned his celebrity friends and had them generously donated during a fundraising campaign for the Malibu Foundation. The money from this organization will benefit the reconstruction of the areas destroyed by the fire in California.
This reports entertainment website The Blast.
Butler, who saw his house go up in flames, organized the benefit evening in one of the other houses he owned in Los Angeles.
Among others Sean Penn, Jamie Foxx, Minnie Driver, The Edge, Noah Cyrus and Robin Thicke were present. The latter also lost his house and possessions because of the devastating fire.
Butler would have raised about 1.8 million dollars during the benefit evening. Other stars, such as Sandra Bullock, Ellen DeGeneres, Bella Hadid and Miley Cyrus also donated generously to the organization, nor were they present at night.
