An announcement has been made by the Google’s CEO Sudnar Pichai that google has plans to launch high speed WiFi internet to the Indian railway passengers. Its going to be a free public internet and it would be available across India. This wold be joint venture of Indian Railway and Railtel that provides internet services as Railwire on several lines. Google is planning to bring more stations online by starting this venture.
This venture of Wifi internet to railway passengers would provide high speed network around 100 business railway stations in India by the end of the 2016.
This project would make Wi-Fi internet available for more than 10 million train commuters.
This announcement was made by the Sundar Pichia Google’s CEO at the time of Indian Prime Minister Narendar Modi Visited the company’s headquarter in Silicon Valley. By the end of the this would become the India’s lasgest Wi-Fi network.
Pichai also said that “Just like I did years ago, thousands of young Indians walk through Chennai Central every day, eager to learn, to explore and to seek opportunity. It’s my hope that this Wi-Fi project will make all these things a little easier,”.
