Seven people were shot dead in the southwest of Australia. The victims are four children and three adults. Their identity and age have not yet been announced.
The victims lay in and near their house in Osmington, more than 250 kilometers below Perth. Shortly before the bodies were discovered, the police received a call from a man “involved in the incident”. More the police could not say yet.
The police assume that the perpetrator is among the dead and committed suicide. Nothing is known about a motive.
It is the deadliest shooting in Australia since the mass murder in Port Arthur in 1996. That massacre with 35 deaths led to strict weapons laws in the country.
