Singers Beyoncé (40) and Billie Eilish (20) received their first Oscar nominations on Tuesday. In the best song category, Beyoncé has a chance with the song ‘Be Alive’ from the biopic ‘King Richard’ and Billie Eilish with the song ‘No Time To Die’ from the ‘Bond’ film of the same name.
King Richard , about Richard Williams, the father of tennis sisters Venus and Serena Williams, has a total of six chances to win an Oscar. The film has been nominated for Best Picture and Best Actor (Will Smith) among others. James Bond’s 25th Adventure was also nominated for Best Sound and Best Special Effects.
Beyoncé has stiff competition in her category. Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is nominated with ‘Dos Oruguitas’ from the Disney hit Encanto , Van Morrison has a chance with Belfast ‘s ‘Down To Joy’ , Diane Warren for ‘Somehow You Do’ from Four Good Days .
If he wins, Lin-Manuel Miranda could become the seventeenth person ever to receive EGOT status for winning all major American entertainment awards (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony).
