Work on the continuation of Avatar is in full swing.
In the official account of the project “Avatar” by James Cameron, a new photo from the set of the next franchise film appeared. To understand what is captured in the picture is quite difficult. Only one thing is clear: Cameron is again preparing something large-scale and super-effective for the audience. The original film was released in 2009, and Avatar 2 will be the first of its four sequels.
In the photo you can see Cameron himself, directing the filming of a scene in which a technical device is immersed in water. “A wave-making machine, a blinding flame, and Jim Cameron wielding a 3D camera is a typical day on the set of the Avatar sequels,” the caption says. It was made by John Landau, one of the producers of the new Avatar. He has been working with Cameron for many years – in particular, he participated in the creation of such paintings as The Titanic and Alita: Battle Angel. It is reported that in the future it is worth waiting for even more photos from the filming of Avatar.
The release of Avatar 2 is scheduled for December 17, 2021. Subsequent parts are due in 2023, 2025 and 2027. True, as Cameron warned, Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 will only appear if the second and third parts succeed at the box office.
The franchise’s cast includes Kane Winslet, Idi Falco, Michelle Yeo, Vin Diesel, Jamein Clement, Una Chaplin, as well as a number of young actors. In addition, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel Moore, Dilip Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald and Sigourney Weaver will return to their roles in Avatar.
